As a self-employed person in the Netherlands you have no employer to arrange your leave, but you do have the right to maternity leave. Through the ZEZ scheme of the UWV you receive a benefit for at least 16 weeks during your pregnancy and maternity leave. You choose the start date yourself, between 4 and 6 weeks before your due date. There is no income limit and it applies to all business types, including a BV (private limited company).
