Statutory minimum wage

The statutory minimum wage is the lowest gross pay that an employer in the Netherlands is legally permitted to pay an employee aged 21 or over. From 1 January 2024 it was converted to a minimum hourly wage of €13.27, regardless of weekly working hours. The minimum wage is adjusted twice a year in line with average wage growth. Young employees under 21 are entitled to a lower youth minimum wage that varies by age bracket.
