Greenwashing

Greenwashing is the practice of falsely presenting a product, service or business as more environmentally friendly or sustainable than it actually is. This can be done by using vague claims, withholding relevant information or displaying misleading certifications. Greenwashing is an unfair commercial practice and will be actively enforced by the ACM from 27 September 2026 under the European EmpCo Directive.
