Equity

Equity (eigen vermogen) is the part of a business's assets that belongs to the owner(s) — what remains when you subtract all liabilities from total assets. In a sole tradership it consists of the owner's investment plus accumulated profits minus private withdrawals. In a BV it comprises share capital plus retained earnings. Growing equity is a sign of a financially healthy business.
