DGA (director-shareholder)

A DGA (directeur-grootaandeelhouder) is a person who is both director of a BV and holds more than 5% of the shares. As a DGA you are an employee of your own company, which means paying yourself a salary under the customary salary rule. Profits remaining after salary and tax can be distributed as dividend, taxed in box 2.
