Deductible healthcare costs

Certain medical and care costs that are not covered by your health insurance and exceed a threshold may be tax-deductible in your income tax return. Examples include costs for specific aids, travel to medical appointments and some specialist care. The deduction applies only when costs are genuinely necessary and exceed a statutory threshold based on your income. A tax adviser can help you determine which costs qualify.
