Customary salary rule (DGA)

The customary salary rule sets the minimum salary a DGA must pay themselves from their BV. In 2024 this is at least €56,000 per year, or higher if comparable employees earn more. The Tax Authority monitors whether DGAs are artificially keeping their salary low to save tax. The salary is subject to payroll tax and national insurance contributions.
