The cooling-off period is the time window in which a consumer can cancel an online purchase without giving a reason. In the Netherlands the legal cooling-off period is 14 days. If a webshop fails to correctly inform the consumer about the right of withdrawal or the cancellation button is missing, the cooling-off period can be extended to up to 12 months. The period only starts after the consumer has confirmed the cancellation.
