The annual accounts (jaarrekening) is the yearly financial statement of a business, consisting of a balance sheet, profit and loss account and notes. For BVs and NVs it is a legal requirement to prepare and file the annual accounts with the Chamber of Commerce. Small BVs need only file a balance sheet and notes. Sole traders are not required to prepare annual accounts but do need a profit and loss overview for their tax return.
